THREATINING LANGUAGE – Harry Hill, omnibus conductor was summoned, on the information of Susannah Newth, for having threatened to kill her, on the 24th ult. Mr. C. Lucas appeared for the defence. Complainant, an elderly widow, living in Staple’s Yard, deposed, that on Saturday night, 24th ult., the defendant rushed into her house and holding up his fists, threatened to kill her for having said something respecting his wife. She “drove him out with her tongs.” In cross-examination, the complainant said a quarrel had taken place between her and the defendant’s wife. The Magistrates considered that complainant had used very improper language towards Mrs. Hill, and dismissed the case. |
