There is no burial register information available for George Crosswell.
Only three of the five burial register books still exist as far as we know and these are held at the Berkshire Record Office.
Stillborn children were not recorded in the burial register, only in the cemetery accounts.

George Crosswell
c1818-1865
George was born in Greenham he was baptised on the 25th January 1818 at St Mary’s Greenham Berkshire and was the illegitimate son of Jane Crosswell. Jane married Thomas Lloyd on the 18th September 1821 at St Nicolas Church Newbury.
George married Elizabeth Batten on the 21st December 1839 at St Nicolas Church Newbury. Elizabeth was a widow with a two year old son, William.
George & Elizabeth had one child, Thomas, born in 1841 but sadly he died aged 1 the following year. They lived in Back Lane Newbury (1841), Bear Yard Market Place (1851) and Market Place (1861). George worked as a Shoemaker until at least 1851 but by 1861 he was an Innkeeper (Black Bear Inn in 1862).
Elizabeth died aged 55 in 1862 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd February. George remarried the same year his 2nd wife was Sarah Berry, they had one child, Jane Elizabeth, born c1865.
George died aged 47 a few months after his daughter’s birth he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 21st June 1865, at the time of his death he was living in Greenham (Graham’s Cottages).
His daughter Jane Elizabeth died aged 8 months, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 13th November 1865.
