The articles below contain information about Edward Collins.
Edward Collins (1863 – 1864)
Edward Collins was born circa December 1863 probably in Newbury. He was baptized on 2 February 1864 at St Nicolas in Newbury. His mother was recorded as Jane Collins, a single woman, no father was recorded. It appears Edward’s birth was not registered so no birth certificate can be obtained.
Edward died in June 1864 aged just 6 months and he was buried at Newtown Road Cemetery on 11 June after a service at St Nicolas church.
It is possible that Edward’s mother is the Jane Collins who married Christopher Goddard in late 1864 in Newbury. In the 1871 census they were living in Sonning and Jane was recorded as being born in Newbury circa 1834.
