Eliza Landcastle
She was born c. 1852 in Leckhamstead, daughter of Jesse and Harriet Taylor. In the 1861 Census she is aged 6, a scholar, living with her parents and her brother Thomas Taylor (b. 1861). She married James Edward Landcastle, a Wood Machinist, in 1880 at Newbury. They had 3 children – Albert Jesse (b. 1881 and died 1882), Harriet (b.1885) and Sarah (b.1891).
She died aged 63 years on 27 December 1913. The inscription on the gravestone includes the names of Harriet Taylor who died 23 October 1901, age 72, and her husband Jesse Taylor who died 22 May 1891, age 66, interred at Leckhamstead Churchyard.
