Transciption: | THE LATE MRS. STILWELL With her late husband, Mrs. Stilwell originally kept the “White House”, which became a favourite of anglers, who found their bodily wants well catered for. Mr. and Mrs. Stilwell removed to the Dolphin in succession to the late Mrs. Stacey, whose husband, John, had been connected with the coaching period. The old-fashioned traditions of the Dolphin were maintained for many years, but customs have changed. Mrs. Stilwell established a considerable reputation for catering and the arrangements for many large and popular functions were successfully carried out by her. She was of a kindly disposition, and the poor never went empty away. The funeral takes place to-morrow (Friday), the first part of the service at 12.15 at the Parish Church. |
