Selina, her parents, siblings and early life:

Ann Selina (aka Selina and Ann) was baptised in 1836, in Basingstoke, Hampshire, the daughter of John and Eliza Phillips (nee Franklin) who were married on the 10thNovember 1827 in Basingstoke (John was recorded as John Field Phillips).

Her father John Field Phillips was baptised on the 31stOctober 1806, in Kingsclere, Hampshire, the son of Phillip and Hannah Phillips (nee Taylor) who were married on the 6thJanuary 1806, in Kingsclere. John died aged 63, in 1869, in Alton, Hampshire.

Ann Selina’s mother Eliza Franklin was baptised on the 25thDecember 1807, in Basingstoke, Hampshire, the daughter of Stephen and Sarah Franklin who were married on the 7thApril 1804, in Basingstoke (both were widowed, Sarah was recorded as Sarah Smith). Eliza died aged 84, in 1892, in Alton.

In 1841 Celina (3) was recorded living in Worting Road, Basingstoke, with her father John (30), a Publican, her mother Eliza (30) and her brothers, John (12), Thomas (8), Henry (5) and Isaac (2).

In 1851 Ann (15) was recorded living in Prospect Place, Alton Hampshire, with her father John Field Phillips (44), a Journeyman Carpenter, her mother Eliza (43), her brothers, John Field Phillips (22), a Journeyman Carpenter, Isaac (13), William (11), Edwin (8) and Arthur (2).

Groom: Albert Fewtrell, full age, bachelor, occupation, Tailor, abode, York Road

Bride: Ann Phillips, full age, spinster, abode, York Road

Fathers: John Fewtrell, a Tailor (Deceased) and John Phillips, a Carpenter

Witnesses: Henry Phillips and Sarah Phillips

(Albert was baptised on the 6 Jul 1834 at Normandy Street-Independent, Alton, Hampshire the son of John (a Tailor) and Lucy Fewtrell (nee Warner) who were married on the 5thMarch 1810, in Farnham).

Albert and Selina had the following children:

Lucy, born c1858 in Middlesex

Albert, born 1859 in Alton, Hampshire

Charlotte Futrell, born c1862, in Reading

Edwin Futrell, born 1864, in Reading

Alfred Futrell, born 1858, in Reading

Ellen Eliza, born 1869, in Reading

Amelia, born c1871, in Reading

Solomon, born 1877, in East Woodhay, Hampshire

Charles Henry, born 1881, in East Woodhay

The 1871 census records Albert (36), Selina (34), Lucy (13), Charlotte (9), Edwin (7) and Amelia (3 months), living at 5 Cave Court, Reading, Berkshire.

In 1881 Albert (44), Selina (43), Amelia (10) and Solomon (4), were recorded living in Westridge, East Woodhay, Hampshire

The 1891 census records Albert (53), a General Labourer, Selina (54) and Charles (10) living at 1 Adey’s Buildings, Greenham, Berkshire.

In 1901 Selina (64), Albert (65), a Farm Labourer and their sons, Solomon (26), Mason’s Plasterer and Charles (21), a Hotel Bottle ?, were living at Parr’s Cottages, Crookham, Berkshire.

Selina died aged 65 in 1902, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 29thOctober. (Abode at time of death, Adey’s Buildings, Newbury, Berkshire)

Albert died aged 68, in 1905 (death registered in Reading)
