Recorder's Notes | Edward was a Mealman of the Town Mills, Newbury. After his death his widow carried on as a Corn Miller emplyoyng 7 men & 1 boy. Their infant sons Edward George Colborn & George Edward are buried behind in ChNWW2. Caroline Ellen attended the Mount Boarding School in East Woodhay aged 11. She died soon after her marriage to Miller Albert Church of Burghclere. After her death Albert married Caroline's sister, Charlotte Anne, against church law but common practice at the time, perhaps explaining their marriage at St Sepulchre's London. They both died at Springfield, Headley and are both buried in this cemetery. Burial & death records give Caroline's age at birth as 22 but her MI states she was 23 years, though she was born in 1859.
