| Recorder's Notes | Caleb Turner was born in Newbury worked first as a Shopman to a Grocer in Clewer, New Windsor. in 1876, Caleb married Fanny Ayres from Clewer, Windsor & lived in West St, Newbury. Percy William Turner , who died at 7 mths, was their only son. Caleb's parents are buried in plot P(G)9. Fanny lived with her sister Ann Ayres in West St, where they had a lodger, and then in Carnarvon St, Newbury, She left £477 to Ann. Her parents & sister are buried in plot P(G)5. Percy was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of Caleb and Fanny Turner (nee Ayres) who were married in 1876, in Windsor, Berkshire.
Percy died aged 7 months, on the 19th December 1878. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 23rd December.
Percy’s parents:
His mother Fanny was born in Clewer, Windsor, Berkshire, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ayres (nee Perry) who were married on the 11th July 1830, at St Lawrence, Reading, Berkshire
His father Caleb was born c1852 in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of William and Anna Maria Turner (nee Hawkins) who were married in 1851 (marriage registered in Hungerford). In 1871 Caleb (19) was working as a Shopman, in Clewer, Berkshire.
Soon after Caleb and Fanny were married, they moved to Newbury, living at 29 West Street where Caleb had Dress and Mantle Making business.
Caleb died aged 27, on the 16th July 1879. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery with Percy William, on the 19th July.

Begs to inform the ladies & the inhabitants of Newbury in general, that she intends carrying on the business of
DRESS & MANTLE MAKING,
also PLAIN NEEDLEWORK, & respectfully solicits a share of their patronage & support.
29 West-street, Newbury. July 30th 1879
The 1881 census records Fanny (27) living in West Street, Newbury. Her sister Annie Ayres (30) was living with her. Both were recorded as Dressmakers.
By 1891 Fanny and Ann, both Dressmakers, were living in Carnarvon Street, Newbury. The 1901 and 1911 census records also record them living in in Carnarvon Street, working as Dressmakers.
Sometime between 1911 and 1916 the sisters had moved to 1, St Mary’s Almshouses, Cheap Street, Newbury.
Fanny died aged 62, on the 29th October 1916, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery with Caleb and Percy William, on the 1st November.
