Death of Mrs. John Allee
The death occurred on Saturday of Mrs John Allee, at her home "Holmfield", Kingsbridge Road. Mrs Allee, who was 37 years of age, had been confined to her bed for the past sixteen weeks. She was the wife of the late Mr John Allee, whose tragic death, four years ago, through being knocked down by a motor-car in attempting to save his father, caused such a sensation at the time. Her two children, aged eight and ten years, are therefore left parentless.
The service was held in the Parish Church yesterday (Wednesday), and the funeral took place at the Old Cemetery, the Rector officiating. The following were the mourners: Mrs Munday (mother), Mr H Munday (brother). Miss E Munday (sister), Mr D Munday (brother), Mr T Munday (brother), Miss B Munday (sister), Mr and Mrs Allee (father and mother-in-law), Mr Jim Allee (brother-in-law), Mr and Mrs Arthur Allee (brother and sister-in-law), Mr Cann (sister-in-law), Mrs J Bleich (sister-in-law), Mr C Allee (uncle), Mr A Allee (cousin), Mrs Pocock, Miss Allee, Mr Huntley, Mr and Mrs F Pocock, Mr Harris, Mr Rich, Mr Waterson
There then follows a long list of those sending wreaths.
