Alice Emma Robinson
1866-1869
Alice Emma was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the daughter of Edward and Emma Elizabeth Robinson (nee Percy) who were married in 1863, in Plymouth, Devon.
Alice Emma died aged 3, on the 2nd November 1869, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 5th November.
Alice Emma’s family:
Alice’s father Edward was born 1838 in Rushden, Northamptonshire, the son of Joseph and Alice Robinson (nee Campion) who were married on the 10th May 1832, at Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire. His mother Alice died aged 36 in 1839, in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. (Joseph’s father remarried in 1840, 2nd wife, Harriet Collins)
Her mother Emma Elizabeth was born 1842 in Plymouth, Devon, the daughter of Thomas and Emma Percy (nee Butcher) who were married in 1839, in East Stonehouse, Devon.
Edward and Emma also had the following children:
Edward Percy, born 1864, in Newbury
Edith Campion, born c1868, in Newbury
Charles Frederick, born 1871, in Newbury
Florence Lilian, born 1870, in Newbury
Walter, born 1873, in Newbury (died aged 8 hours, buried in the NRC on the 18th September)
Caroline Gertrude, born 1875, in Newbury
Beatrice Bennett, born 1880, in Barton Regis
Joseph Gordon, born 1885, in Barton Regis
The 1871 census records Edward (32,) a Bootmaker, Emma (28), (mistakenly recorded aged 20 on ancestry) Edward (6), Edith (3) and Florence (8 months), were recorded living at 88 Northbrook Street, Newbury.
In 1881 Edward (42), a Bootmaker, Emma (37) and their children, Edward (16), a Clerk, (out of employment), Edith (13), Caroline (6) and Beatrice (8 months), were recorded living ai C…. Parade, Bristol.
The 1891 census records Edward (51), as a Commercial Traveler, living at 2, Chester Place, Stapleton, Gloucestershire, with Emma (49), Charles (19) a Clerk, Florence (20), a School Teacher, Beatrice (10) and Joseph (5).
In 1901 Edward (62) was again recorded as a Commercial Traveler, he was living at 2, Fellwood Villas, Bristol, with Emma (57), Charles (27), a Companies Accountant, Gordon (15), an Apprentice (Water Mineral Manufacturer) (Joseph Gordon) and Beatrice (20), a Post Office Clerk.
Emma Elizabeth died aged 66 in 1909 (death registered in Keynsham)
The 1911 census records Edward (72, a Commercial Traveler (Book Trade), visiting his married daughter Edith Campion Warner and her family, at Church Hill, Brislington, Somerset.
Edward remarried in 1912, in Croydon. His 2nd wife was Emily Levy. The 1921 census records them as visitors at 18, Dickenson Road, Weston-Super-Mare. The home of Joseph Thomas Robinson (Edward’s half -brother) and his wife Emma (nee Levy, Emily’s sister)
Emily died aged 88 on the 6th November 1926, in Axbridge, Somerset. (abode at time of death, 30 Walliscote-road Westen-Super-Mare)
Edward died aged 93, in 1931 (death registered in Axbridge)
