Recorder's Notes | Frederick was a house painter, son of a painter, who grew up in Northbrook St and later moved to 9 Pembroke Rd where he lived until he died. In 1907 he married Beatrice Mabel Mary (ka Mary), daughter of a groom then coal porter of Northcroft Lane & West Mills. She worked as a General Servant to a Laundry Proprietor of Ruislip Middx. before marriage. Frederick served in the Royal Berks Yeomany and was awarded a Z class star. They had three daughters. Hilda Dorothy, the eldest daughter whose memorial is on the grave, married Charles Donnachie in 1935 and lived at 78 King's Rd in 1939 with 2 children. Hilda lived in Talbot Close in 1965. She died in Texas n 1990 possibly whilst visiting her daughter Mary Winifred Aguilera who had married an American and emigrated to Texas and was naturalised in 1961. Hilda was registered as living alone in Newbury in 1950 (2, St Mary's Cottages, St Mary's Rd) & in 1965 at 90,Talbot Close, Newbury) The middle daughter, Alicia, ka Polly, married Fredereick Beadle of Camberwell, who became a male nurse after service in WW1. She was cremated in Lewisham & her ashes, aliong with her mother's, were interred in her father's grave. Her widow remarried in Walton on Thames in 1980. Source: Ancestry records. |
