Comments | the accounts for 1886 have the front part cut away but it seems possible that Mary Alan would fit into the chronological order of burials. She died on the 4th of March and possibly could have been buried on the 10th. Her first name matches -ry | ||||||

Mary Allen
1811-1886
Mary was born on the 13th December 1811, she was baptised on the 12th January 1812, at St Nicolas Church, Newbury, Berkshire, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Allen (nee Hazell) who were married on the 12th October 1797, at St Nicolas Church, Newbury.
Thomas and Mary also had the following children:
William, baptised 17th March1799, in Speen
Charles, born 17th October, baptised 31st Octoberc1802, at St Nicolas Newbury
George, born 25th August, baptised 16th September 1804, at St Nicolas Newbury
Charlotte, born 18th August, baptised 27th August 1809, at St Nicolas Newbury
In 1815 Thomas (46), a Millwright, Mary (50), William (16), Charles (12), George (11), Charlotte (6) and Mary (3), were living in West Mills, Newbury.
Mary’s mother died aged 66 in 1834, she was buried on the 17th January, at St Nicolas, Newbury
In 1841 Mary (25) was living in Northcroft Lane Newbury with her widowed father, Thomas Allen (70), a Millwright.
Mary’s father died aged 77 in 1847, he was buried on the 16th April at St Nicolas, Newbury.
Thomas left a will leaving Mary well provided for.
In 1851 Mary (39) was recorded as a Proprietor of Houses, living in Northcroft Lane, Newbury
In 1861 aged 49 she was recorded as a Domestic Servant, living alone in Northcroft Lane, Newbury
The 1871 census record her aged 58, an Annuitant, living in Northcroft lane, and in 1881 aged 69, she was recorded as Independent. She was still living in Northcroft Lane, Newbury.
Mary died aged 74 on the 4th March 1886. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 8th March.
