Sudden Death
Again we have to record an instance of sudden death in our town. It appears that, on Monday evening last, as John Dell, a plumber, glazier, and picture frame maker, in the employ of Mr. Biddis, of Northbrook street, was returning home about six o'clock, he fell down in front of Mr. Blacket's house, and died in less than five minutes.
The deceased had been engaged all day in packing up the pictures at the exhibition, and had only a few minutes previously returned with a horse and cart from Highclere Castle, to which place he had been with the pictures belonging to the Earl of Carnarvon.
An inquest was held at the "Jack Inn," Newbury, on Tuesday evening, when the jury returned a verdict of "Died by the visitation of God.'' The deceased had been ailing for some time past.
