The following persons were sworn in as special constables for the ensuing year under the Municipal Act for the borough: Joseph Golding, Henry Newbery, James Frewin, Henry Bradley, William Morris, James Wyatt, Bernard Deane and Richard Brown. Before the constables left the room, the magistrates gave them instructions how they were to deal with parties who should be guilty of letting off fireworks within the borough, particularly on the 5th Nov. next, as they were determined to punish everyone so offending, with the utmost rigour of the law.
