MR. LAWRENCE READ

 

 LAWRENCE READ

THE LATE MR. LAWRENCE READ. – The funeral took place on Tuesday of Mr. Lawrence Read, L.D.S., who has been living in retirement at Greystairs, 8 Porchester-road, for several years.  The interment was in Newbury Cemetery, the coffin being conveyed on a hand brier.

 

 The Vicar of St. John’s (Rev. A.G.P. Baines) officiated and the mourners were Dr. Jonner Clarke (Executor), Dr. Bailey (Borden), Mrs. Carter-Baine, Mr. Gilbert Mallet, Mr. Arthur T. Watson.  The floral offerings included: His two nieces, Dorrie and Laura; F.G. Hunt; T.E. Kemp, E. Spanswick, and A. Taylor.

 

The coffin plate was inscribed: “Lawrence Read, died January 7th, 1916, aged 66 years”.  The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. Penford and Son, Northbrook-street.
