THE LATE MR. WALTER WHISTLER The remains of the late Mr. Walter Whistler, whose death took place at “Wynendael” on Tuesday in last week,were interred in Newbury Cemetery on Friday. The deceased gentleman, who was a brother of Mrs. A.W. Neale, formerly lived at Bramdean, Hants. A service was held at the Congregational Church, after which the body was conveyed in a Washington car to the Cemetery. Rev. F.W. Clarke was the officiating minister. The coffin, which was of polished oak with brass fittings, bore the inscription “Walter Whistler, died Nov. 19,1912, aged 64.”
The mourners included Mrs. A.W. Neate, sister, Mr. Alf Whistler (Cannon Heath) and Mr. S. Whistler (from America), brothers; Miss Whistler, niece; Mr. A.W.Neate, brother-in-law; Mr. Dennis Whistler and Mr. F. Neate, nephews, and Mr. F.Taylor.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs Penford and Son, Newbury. |
