THE LATE MRS. BROOME PINNIGER
It is with regret that we record the death of Mrs. Broome Pinniger, which occurred on Friday last at her residence, the Market Place.
The deceased lady was the daughter of the late Dr. Chesterman, of Banbury, and was married in 1867 to Mr. Broome Pinniger, solicitor of this town, who died about fifteen months ago; since then Mrs. Pinniger had been in failing health.
The funeral took place yesterday (Monday) afternoon at the Cemetery, the Rector of Newbury (Rev. L.R. Majendie) officiating.
The mourners were Mr. Broome Pinniger and Mr. W. Pinniger (sons), Mr. R.C. Chesterman (brother), Mr. J.C. Pinniger (brother-in-law), Mr. Wilde, Mr. J. Browning, Mr. S.V. Pinniger, Rev. L.J. Fish, Mr. H.B. Pinniger, Mr. T.C. Pinniger, and Mr. James Money.
The coffin was of English oak, with solid brass furniture, and inscribed:-
HARRIET ANN PINNIGER
Born November 7th 1835
Died December 20th 1901.
The coffin was covered with beautiful floral offerings from the sons of the deceased lady, Mr. J.C. Pinniger and family, Mr. and Mrs. S.V. Pinniger, Mr. John Browning, Mr. and Mrs. Wilde, Mrs. Pinniger and family (Westbury), Miss M. Money, Miss W. Money, Rev. L.J. and Mrs. Fish, Mrs. B. Smith, Mr. and Mrs Giffard Wells, servants at the Market Place, the Limes and Hollyhurst.
The funeral was carried out by Mr. Charles Adey, of West Mills.
