  Badly weathered face, epitaph very difficult to decipher;. Both headstone & footstone laid down in a disordered way and misplaced

    Harriett was born in Benham nr Newbury to Agricultural Labourer John & Maria Hunt, She became a General Servant to Lawyer, John Fuller by 1871 at 13, Donnington Square, Speen. She married Thomas Smith of Newbury in 1873 and lived in Mill Lane, then Jackson's Cottages, Greenham. Thomas was first a Corn Dealer's Labourer then a Boiler Maker's Labourer. They had 8 children. The year after her death, her husband married Katherine (baptised Catherine) Mary Tombs of Twyford. They lived at 32 York Rd & had several more children. Thomas died in 1929 & is buried with his & Kate's daughter, Jessie K. Smith, in plot M(C)3. Kate is in plot (M(B)1. Harriet & Thomas's son Bertie Smith died aged 101 & is buried in plot S16.
