George Charles Parsons

The Late Mr. G.C. Parsons – The death of Mr. Parsons at the comparatively early age of 47, has occasioned much regret among many besides his own townsmen.  His long connection with the Jack Hotel pointed him out as a fitting successor to Mrs. Fennell on her retirement as proprietress.  Mr. Parsons lived however but a short time to enjoy the improved social position which he had made for himself by his industry, and the conscientious discharge of duty in a subordinate positon.  The name of Parsons in late years has come to be known nearly as widely as the hotel with which he has so long been identified.  The funeral took place yesterday at the Cemetery, the Rev. G. Howe officiating.  By his death the Baptist Church has lost one of its most liberal supporters and active workers, Mr. Parsons having devoted his energies more especially to the village stations.  A funeral sermon will be preached on Sunday evening next at the Baptist Chapel.
