JOHN GRUBB
SUDDEN DEATH IN THE CITY.-
Early on Sunday evening a bricklayer named John Grubb retired to rest in his usual health, but he had not been there long before his wife heard an unusual noise, and found her husband was in what she supposed to be a fit.
Mr. Richard Hickman, surgeon, was sent for, and promptly attended, but death had supervened to remove him beyond the aid of surgical skill.
At the inquest on Monday evening at the Council Chamber before T.H. Hawkins, Esq., Borough Coroner, Mr. Hickman, who who had previously made a post mortem examination, stated that death had been caused by the giving way of a large vessel of the heart, and the jury, of whom Mr. D. Dolby was the foreman, returned a verdict in accordance with the evidence.
