    Thomas was a Master Miller from Calne, working in Oxford Rd, Speen. He was widowed by the 1851 census with 2 daughters, working as a Miller employing 5 men at Donnington Bridge. His first wife was Sarah Bunting. His 2nd wife, Isabel, was the daughter of a clerk in the Navy Office from Brixton, London and returned to the area when widowed, dying there & being buried in Norwood Cemetery. Charles had 7 siblings and 2 half-siblings. No record of any occupation but two brothers became Auctioneer's clerks. one a solicitor and the youngest, John worked as a Scenic artist in the Theatre. Ellen was Thomas' sister who lodged in Hungerford at her death. She had earlier lived with her widowed father, also a Milller and Magistrate in Kingston, Surrey. Thomas's sister, Mary Leonard, married Joseph Adey, Coal Merchant of West Mills. Both families are buried in NRC: His sister Jane Leonard in NE25(A); his nieces, Augusta, Mary Ann & Louisa Adey in ChNW20; his nephew Joseph & his infant son Clifford Plummer Adey in Ch10(C); & his nephew Rupert John with his wife Fanny in Ch5(C). Name of first wife on daughter, Mrs Elizabeth Leonard Cooper's Pennsylvanian death ceritificate.
