CHARLES BATT

To BREWERS, PUBLICANS, and OTHERS – TO BE LET, with immediate possession, a good sized established BEER and SPIRIT HOUSE, consisting of a bar, parlour, large dining-room, tap-room, kitchen, dairy, &c. ; with 7 good sized bedrooms, closets, &c., with excellent three-quarter brewery plant, convenient cellars, yard, stabling and other out-buildings, together with a malt-house if required ; situate in the best part of Northbrook-street, Newbury, Berks, the present occupier relinquishing the same on account of ill health.

The Furniture may be taken at a valuation if required.

For further particulars, and to treat for the same, apply to Mr Charles Batt on the premises, or Mr William Crofts, Appraiser &c., Newbury.

SALE of a BREWERY PLANT, HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE, and FIXTURES, NORTHBROOK STREET, NEWBURY

MR C W DOE is instructed to Sell by Auction, on Wednesday, the 8th day of October 1856 at 10 o’clock, on the premises, the property of Mr Charles Batt, (taken for non-payment of rent, and for the benefit of creditors), the whole of the compact BREWING PALNT, comprising of 200 gallon copper, with upperback lined with lead, liquor back and underbacks complete, 2 pair working squares, a 3 quarter mash tub, large coolers, a 400 gallon and smaller casks, lead trough, malt mill, pump and piping, and the usual brewing utensils.

In the Bar is a painted counter, 4-pull beer engine and piping, a spirit engine, gas burners, and fittings, settles, benches, &c. &c.

The Household Furniture consists of 4-post and other bedsteads and bedding, drawers, wardrobe, tables, chairs, Brussels and other carpets, 8-day dial, looking glasses &c.
