  North Kerbstone, Outer slope: In Loving Memory of Emma Stephens who died Aug. 29 1914 aged 52 years. // East Kerbstone, Outer slope: Thy will be done. // South Kerbstone, Outer slope: Also of John Stephens who died Oct 27th 1917 aged 49 years. //
   
  Kerbstones at risk of being buried. Both end kerbstones detached. North kerbstone broken in half in situ.

    John was a Postman in Newbury. He married Emma Pocock, dressmaker & sister to Walter Pocock buried in ChNW46. Both died young & their daughter, Elsie Maud (Stephens) Tidbury also died at only 39 years. John was first admitted to Moulsford Lunatic Asylum in 1907 & he died there in 1917. In 1910 he was recorded as the freeholder of Holmlea, Andover Rd, Newbury but he was not living there in the 1911 census. Emma was recorded as a married, Boarding house owner at Holmlea in 1911 where she lived with her daughter, her father-in-law James, and the Pinnigars, 2 spinster sisters.
