  Kerbstone: North side slope: Annie L. King, born 26th. Nov. 1967, died March 17th. 1946. //
   
  North kerbstone cracked, otherwise good condition. Partially buried and MI covered with lichen.

    Annie King was born to Charles, a boot maker and Mary Ann , a Boot binder of Winscombe Place, Newbury. Her father died when she she was young and her mother remarried a Scot, James McDonald, a general porter of Northcroft Lane. Her elder sister died as a baby and she had a younger brother who became a butcher in Bath. Alice trained as a nurse at Middlesex Hospital, and when she retired she was, by 1939, living at the homes for retired MIddlesex Hospital nurses in Argyle St, Newbury. She was living there when she died at the Emergency Hospital, 214, Newtown Rd, Newbury. She left £1500 in her Will.
