Remembrance Opening

“Their name liveth for evermore”

Despite the appalling weather, our regular tour of the Commonwealth War Graves on the eve of Remembrance Sunday went ahead: after all they suffered, we couldn’t let them down, could we?!

A fair number number turned up for the tour, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Newbury, the Chairman of West Berkshire Council, two Councillors, and our resident photographer Lucie Robinson (to whom we are grateful for the pictures), and her father.

All commented on the poignance of the event and agreed how right it is to keep alive the memories of those who made the supreme sacrifice.

After lunch a different small group enjoyed the new 'Medical Matters' tour.
