  Headstone: In Loving Memory of /my dear husband / George Smith / who died Jan. 20th.1904 / aged 68 years. / A Crimean veteran / "Home at last they labour done / safe and blest, the Victory won. / Jordan passed, from pain set free / Angels now have welcomed thee." / Also of / Mary Ann Smith / the beloved wife of the above / who died Feb. 8th. 1910 / aged 84 years. / "Resting in Peace." //
   
  Headstone tilted sidewards. Engraving of quotation worn & difficult to read

    It would appear that Mary Ann was buried a year after her death. This is unlikely and the the worn inscription should be 1911. Evidence is that the abode on the burial register is that of her daughter.
