William Allaway

1856-1892

 

William was born in 1856 in Reading Berkshire and was the son of William & Sarah Allaway (nee Cresswell) who were married in Reading in 1845. His father was a Brewer (Welldale Brewery Reading) and Corn Merchant.

William’s siblings were:
Tracey 1848   Mary Ann 1850   Sarah 1852   Ellen c1855   Emily c1859

William’s mother died in 1868 when William was 12 years old and his father died in 1873 when he was 17 years old.

By 1881 William had moved to Newbury and was living at Bellevue Villa in the parish of St John, he was recorded on the 1881 census as a Gentleman aged 24. In the 1891 census he was recorded ”living on own means” at 7 Southampton Terrace Newtown Road Newbury.

William died aged 35 on the 15th May 1892 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 18th May 1892.
