Alfred Thorn (1840-1898)

He was the eldest son of Edmund George and Margaret nee May Thorn

The family was living in Dibley’s Yard, Bartholomew St. on the 1841 and 1851 censuses’ By 1855 they had moved to Simmon’s Yard, Northbrook St. On the 1861 census they were at 1 Albert Place and Alfred was a shoemaker.

In 1861 Alfred married either Frances Holt/Tilling

On 1891 census he was living with his wife Frances in Norten Villas, Glousester Rd. and was recorded as a cordwainer.

He died in 1898 at 8 Raymonds Almshouses.
