Elizabeth Edwards

She was born in 1844 in Chard, Somerset, to Thomas and Ann Dunning. Her family lived in Perry Street and  worked in the cotton lace making industry which dominated Chard at the time.  In 1861 at the age of 16 she is working as a Silk Weaver. She married Ellis John Edwards on 31 August 1870 at the Parish Church, Sherborne, Dorset. They had 7 children and she died on 9 February 1931, aged 86 years, at The Haven, Finchampstead, Wokingham. She was buried on 13 February 1931 alongside her daughter Emily. Probate was granted to her son-in-law Frederick James Cates, stationer.
