Reuben Arthur Phillippo (1898 – 1900)

Edgar Phillippo was born in 1874 in Norwich. In the 1881 census he was recorded living in Spixworth in Norfolk with his grandparents William and Sarah Phillippo, William was a head gardener.

Ten years later in the 1891 census he was still living with his grandparents but now in Speen. William was a gardener and bailiff while Edgar was a carpenter.

Edgar married Elizabeth Fairey on 18 November 1893 at St Mary in Speen, his father was recorded as William Phillippo while Edgar was an engineer. Elizabeth was born circa 1872 in Speen. She was recorded in the 1891 census in Speen with her parents Benjamin and May along with brothers Reuben and William.

Elizabeth and Edgar had a daughter Florence May in 1894 and four years later in 1898 a son Reuben Arthur. Sadly, Reuben died aged only 16 months on 8 January 1898 and he was buried on 13 January at Newtown Road Cemetery.

At present no trace of Edgar and Elizabeth in the 1901 census. They had a son Hubert Fairey Phillippo who was born in 1905 in Woolwich. It appears Elizabeth remarried on 12 December 1916 in Woolwich to Konrad C Osborn.
