Joseph Bidmead was baptised in 1812, in Brimpton, Berkshire, the illegitimate son of Charlotte Bidmead.

His mother Charlotte married John Tucker on the 29th May 1813 in Brimpton, Berkshire. Joseph was then known as Joseph Tucker.

John and Charlotte had the following children:

Harriet, c1814

 Anne, c1817

 Sarah, c1818

William, c1820

Eliza, c1827

George, c1833

Henry, c1837

In 1841 Joseph (25) was recorded as an Agricultural Labour, living in Brimpton.

The 1851 census records Joseph as a Labourer, living in Speenhamland, Berkshire

In 1861 Joseph (48) was again recorded as a Labourer. He was recorded living in Cheap Street, Newbury, with his brother William (35), a Carter, his sister-in-law, Elizabeth (25) and his niece Alice Amelia (2). (Surname recorded as Lucker on ancestry)

Joseph died aged 55, in 1863. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 8th April.
