W or Mrs Thatcher – burial 5 January 1901

NRC states he is William – stillborn child of Mrs Thatcher.

According to the Cemetery Company’s account the fees for his burial were £2. 2 shillings (which is worth approximately £340 today) which was a lot of money for a still born child, and more than anyone else on that page. Stillborn burials were usually a few shillings. One wonders why this was the case – were his parents wealthy or was there some controversy.
