Isabella, her parents, siblings and early life:

Isabella was baptised on the 23rd June 1833, in Ham, Wiltshire, the daughter of John and Isabella Pithouse.

John and Isabella also had the following children baptised in Ham, Wiltshire:

George Pittice, 17th March 1822

Percilla Pitthouse, 14th July 1826

Rebecca, born c1829 (no baptism found)

John Pithouse, 13th November 1831

In 1841 Isabella (8) was recorded living in Ham, Wiltshire, with her father John (45), a Labourer, her mother Isabella (45) and her sisters, Rebecca (12) and Mary (5). (Surname recorded as Fithouse on ancestry)

The 1851 census records Isabella (19) working as a Housemaid, for Baldwin F Leighton (47), an Officiating Minister and his wife Sarah (48), in the village of East Grafton, in the parish of Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire.

(John was born in Enborne, Berkshire. He was baptised on the 19th May 1833, at St Mary Hampstead Marshall, Berkshire, the son of Robert James and Elizabeth (aka Betsey) Punter (nee Burton) who were married on the 11th June 1832, at St Mary, Hampstead Marshall)

John and Isabella had the following children baptised at St Mary, Kintbury:

Blanche, 7th March 1859

William, 6th May 1860

Florence Isabel, 24th August 1864

Emily, 1st April 1866

The 1861 census records John (27), a Plumber, Glazier & Painter, Isabella (27) and their children, Blanche (2) and William (1), living in Kintbury, Berkshire.

The 1871, 1881 and 1891 census records record the family living in the High Street, Kintbury as follows:

1871: John (37), a Plumber & Painter, Isabella (37) Blanche (12), Florence (6) and Emily (5).

1881: John (47), a Plumber and Painter employing 2 men, Isabella (47) and Emily (15).

1891: John (57), a Plumber and Decorator, Isabella (57) and Emily (24) and a granddaughter, Mabel Smith (11).

By 1901 John had retired. John and Isabella, both aged 67, were recorded living at Holmlea, York Road, Newbury, Berkshire in the census for this year.

Isabella was widowed in 1902. John died aged 69, on the 20th November. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 22nd November 1902.

Isabella (78) was again recorded living at Holmlea, York Road in 1911.

She died aged 80, on the 4th March 1914 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 5th March.
