1843-1883
William, his parents, siblings and early life:
William was born in 1843, he was baptised on the 12th March 1843, in Thatcham, Berkshire, the son of John and Elizabeth Nailor (nee Powell) who were married in 1841 (marriage registered in Bradfield).
William’s father John Naylor was baptised on the 20th September 1818, in Thatcham, the son of John and Mary Nailer (nee Wells) who were married on the 30th May 1814, in Thatcham

In 1851 John Nailer (32), a Farm Labourer, Elizabeth (39), Sarah (9), William (7), John (4) and Henry (2), were living in Cold Ash, Thatcham, Berkshire
The 1861 census records William Naylor (17) as a Shepherd, in Dunley, St Mary Bourne, Hampshire.
The 1871 census records William Nailor (28) as a Private in the 2nd Battalion of the 2nd Cheshire Regiment, stationed in Aldershot, Hampshire.
William in later life:
William Naylor married Louisa New on the 22nd November 1873, in Thatcham, Berkshire.
(Louisa was born in 1847, in Thatcham, Berkshire. She was baptised on the 17th October 1847, in Thatcham, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth New (nee Randall) who were married in 1842 (see below for marriage details)

The 1881 census records William Nailer (38) as a Labourer, living in Harris Cottages, Greenham, with Lousia (34) and their children, William (6) and Elizabeth (4).
William Nailor died aged 40 on the 12th December1883, in the Workhouse Infirmary. He was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 15th December.
Louisa after William’s death:
The 1891 census records Louisa (39) as a Laundress, living in Greenham Mills, Greenham, with her children, William (16), an Errand Boy, Eliza (14), Ernest (9) and a boarder, Ada Page (1). Louisa’s mother Eliza New (66) was also recorded living in the household and was also recorded as a Laundress. (Surname recorded as Nailos on ancestry)
Louisa Naylor died aged 40, in 1891, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 28th August 1891.
