CAROLINE WALKER
Caroline was born in Bermondsey in Q2 1872 Southwark 1d 231 & was baptised on 31 March 1872.
She was the daughter of Charles Benjamin & Amelia (nee Loveday) Walker. They had married on 21 February 1869 & were living in Bermondsey in 1871. He was a Fellmonger & they had a son, Charles, 1.
After Caroline’s birth the family moved to Greenham Mills where Charles continued being a Fellmonger. In 1874 they had a daughter, Amelia Louise, & in 1876, Ada (Ref: 3638). Sadly, Ada died at 6 weeks old.
Caroline died on 7 May 1877 at Greenham Mills, aged 5, from a disease of the brain. Q2 1872 Newbury 2c 150.
She was buried at NRC on 12 May 1877.
By 1881 Charles & his family had back to 107, Jamaica Road, Bermondsey. He was a Fellmonger employing 22 men. They had had two more children: Emma Alice, 3, & Charles Benjamin, 1. By 1891 Charles had become a Butcher & they had 2 more children: Frank, 7 & Nellie, 5.
