Albert, his parents, siblings and early life:
Albert was baptised on the 19th February 1837 in Aldbourne, Wiltshire, the son of Henry (a Labourer) and Patience Farr (nee Rushan/Rusham/Rushon/Rushen) who were married on the 6th April 1836, in Inkpen, Berkshire.
Henry and Patience also had the following children baptised in Aldbourne:
Mary Ann, 24th February 1839
Elizabeth, 9th January 1842
George, 2nd May 1847, (at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel)
The 1841 census records Albert (4) living in Baydon Street, Aldbourne, with his father Henry (30), his mother Patience (25) and his sister Mary (2).
Albert’s father Henry died aged 42 in 1850 (death registered in Hungerford)
The 1851 census records Albert (14), living in Baydon Street, with his widowed mother Patience (38), his sister Elizabeth (8), his brother George (4) and a visitor.
Albert’s mother remarried in 1856. Her 2nd husband was John Orchard. She continued to live in Aldbourne until her death in 1879, aged 66.
Albert in later life:
In 1861 Albert (25) was working as a Groom, he was living in Newtown Road, Thatcham, Berkshire.

(Mary was baptised on the 20th July 1834, at St Mary Bourne, Hampshire, the daughter of Thomas and Lucy Allen (nee Gamester) who were married on the 30th October 1824, at St Mary Bourne)
Albert and Mary had the following children:
Emily, born 1865 in Speen, Berkshire
Alice, born 1867 in Eddington, (near Hungerford) Berkshire
Mary, born 1872 in Beddington, Surrey
In 1871 Albert (34) was working as a Coachman, he was living at 1, Waddon Court Cottages, Waddon, Croydon, Surrey, with Mary (36), Emily (5) and Alice (3).
By 1881 Albert (44) was living in Backway, Speen, Berkshire, with Mary (46), Emily (16), a General Servant and Mary (8). He was recorded as a Gardener in the census for this year.
The 1891 census also records Albert (54) as a Gardener (not domestic). He was living at 8, Eastbourne Terrace, Pelican Road, Speen, Berkshire, with Mary (56) and their daughter, Alice (23), a Parlourmaid.
In 1901 Albert (64) was recorded as a Domestic Gardener, living at 1, Hampton Cottages, Newbury, with Mary (66), their daughter Alice (33) and two boarders.
Albert was widowed in 1904, Mary died aged 70, on the 25th August, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 29th August.
The 1911 census records Albert (74) as formerly a Groom and Gardener, living at 4, Bartholomew Almshouses, Argyle Road, Newbury. His daughter Alice (44), a Seamstress, was still living with him.
Albert died aged 77, on the 24th February 1914, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery with Mary, on the 27th February.
Their daughter Alice died in 1935. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery with her parents on the 10th April.
