ESTHER GREEN nee Dell.  1866 - 1928

Esther was born in Newbury (Q3 2c 296) to Henry (12064) & Jane (6994) Dell.

In 1871 she was 4 & the family were living in Jack Street, Newbury.

In 1881, aged 14, was living with her maternal grandmother & was probably caring for her. They were living at The City, St. Bartholomew’s Alms.

She married George David Green (1254) in 1887 in Newbury (Q4 2c 534). They lived at 3, Harrisons Buildings, Stroud Green for all of their married life.

In 1891 she is 23 & George 32. He is a domestic gardener. They have a 2-year-old son George Henry.

In 1901 she is 34 & George 43. They now have 3 sons: George Henry, 12; Frank, 5 & Reginald, 2.

Her widowed mother, Jane Woodward (6994) has come to live with them by 1911. She died in 1912.

In 1921 Esther is 54 & George 62. He is still a gardener & son, Raymond, is still at home. He is a Plumber’s Improver for Mr. R. Morton & Sons, Sanitary Engineers.

Esther dies in 1928 aged 62 (Q2 Newbury 2c 296). She is buried at NRC on 29 June 1928.
