EMMA DELL nee Bosisto. Ref: 7595

 

Emma was born in 1850 (Q1 Newbury 6 247). She was baptised in Thatcham on 3 March 1850.

 

In 1851, aged 1, she was living with her parents, John Lazenby Bosisto & Mary Bosisto at Shaw Fields, Thatcham. They were both Tailors & they also had a son, John.

 

In 1861 the family are still at Shaw Fields. She is 11 & brother John is a Clerk for the GWR.

 

No record has been found for 1871.

 

Emma married Edwin Dell (7595) in 1873 (Q2 Newbury 2c 420).

 

1881 saw them living at 6, West St., Newbury. Edwin is a Bootmaker & they have 4 children: Walter Bosisto, Brice Edwin, Louis Emily & Nellie Lazenby.

 

In 1887, Emma gave birth to another son, Arthur (Q1 Newbury 2c 155). Sadly, he died 3 days later on 12 February 1887 (Q1 Newbury 2c 243) & was buried in unconsecrated ground at NRC on 16 February 1887.

 

In 1891 they are still in West Street & Edwin is a Bootmaker & also a Waiter. Son, Walter, is a Grocer’s assistant & Brice is an Outfitter’s Assistant. Nellie & Louis are there plus further children, Victor & Maria Bosisto. Emma is 41.

 

By 1901 they have moved to 98, Northbrook Street. Edwin, 49, with still the same jobs & Emma is 51. Nellie, a Dressmaker, & Maria are still at home. They also have a lodger.

 

In 1911 they are at the same address with Edwin being a Boot maker & Shop keeper. Nellie & Maria are still at home. Emma is 61.

 

Edwin dies in 1917 & Emma dies 2 years later on 19 December 1919 (Q4 Newbury 2c 274). She is buried alongside Edwin at NRC on 22 December 1919.
