Jane Haines
1851-1868
Jane Haynes was born in Donnington, Berkshire, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Haines (nee Holder) who were married on the 3rd March 1837, in Winterbourne, Berkshire.
Her father Joseph was baptised in 1815, in Shaw cum Donnington, Berkshire, the son of William and Jane Haynes (nee Newman) who were married in 1798, in Shaw cum Donnington (surname recorded as Hains).
Her mother Mary was baptised in 1814 in Winterbourne, Berkshire, the daughter of James and Charlotte Holder (nee Barrett) who were married in 1810, in Chieveley, Berkshire.
Jane’s siblings were:

Joseph, Mary and their children were recorded living in Shaw cum Donnington in the 1851-1891 census records.
Joseph was recorded as an Agricultural Labourer in 1851, a Gardener in 1861, 1871 and 1881 and a Jobbing Gardener in 1891. Mary was recorded as a Laundress in the 1861 census.
Jane was recorded aged 9, living with her parents and siblings in the 1861 census. She died aged 17 in 1868 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th June.
Her mother Mary died aged 79 in 1893 in Donnington. She was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 15th May.
In 1901 her father Joseph (85) was recorded boarding at 2 Highgate Villas, Queens Road, Newbury. With a Fred Collins (31) and his family. (Surname recorded as Harries on ancestry)
He died aged 92 on the 22nd August 1906, in the Newbury Workhouse and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 25th August.
