This child was the stillborn child of James (a Pig Dealer) and Ann Siney (nee Griffin) who were married on the 13th October 1851 in Wickham, Berkshire.

The child’s family:

Father: James was baptised in Inkpen in 1828, the son of Charles and Sarah Siney. James died aged 76 in 1905, he was buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 4th March.

Mother: mother Ann was baptised in 1829 in Welford, the daughter of Joseph and Charlotte Griffin. Ann died aged 86 in 1915, she was buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 11th December.

Walter born 1869 (died aged 6 months on the 13st May 1870, buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd June)

The 1881 census records James (52), Ann (51), a Laundress and their children, Joseph (21), a Grocer’s Assistant, Martha (18), a Pupil Teacher and Ezra (16), a Grocer’s Assistant, living in Newbury.

In 1891 James (62), Ann (62) and Martha (28) were living in Newbury.

The 1901 census record James (72), Ann (71) and their daughter Martha (38), a Dressmaker, living in Russell Road, Newbury.
