Thomas was born in Warborough Oxfordshire, he was baptised on the 25th August 1793 in Warborough, the son of John and Anne Gammon.

(Mary was baptised on the 21st December 1800 in Warborough, Oxfordshire, the daughter of Richard and Martha Hyatt (nee Carter) who were married on the 4th June 1792 in Warborough)

The 1851 census records Thomas (55) as a Baker and Mealman, living in Bartholomew Street, Newbury, Berkshire with Mary (48) and two servants, Thomas Wise (15), a Baker’s Assistant and Mary Ann Box (14), a House Servant.

Thomas died aged 64 on the 16th March 1858, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 19th March.

Probate: GAMMON Thomas    Effects: under £300     27 July 1858    Letters of Administration of the Personal estate and effects of Thomas Gammon late of Newbury in the County of Berks deceased who died 16th March 1858 at Newbury aforesaid were granted at the Principal Registry to Mary Gammon of Newbury aforesaid Widow the Relict of the said Deceased she having been first sworn.
