Emma Willis (1846 — 1856)  

Richard Willis was born circa 1824 in Newbury, the son of John and Denny Willis. He married Jane Dear on 19 February 1844 at St Nicolas in Newbury when he was recorded as a tailor. Newbury, Benjamin in 1844, Emma in 1846 and Edwin Richard in 1848. Edwin died as an infant in 1848. Richard and Jane had three children all born in Newbury

Richard then married Sarah Ann Reeves on 16 March 1850 at St Nicolas in Newbury. Sarah Ann was born circa 1826 in Newbury, the daughter of John and Amelia, nee Pike, Reeves. In the 1851 census Emma was recorded with her father Richard and step mother Sarah in Jack of Newbury Street in Newbury with her brother Benjamin and Henry Charles Willis aged 2 months, the son of Richard and Sarah. Richard was recorded as a tailor.
Emma died May 1856 aged 10 and she was buried on 3 June 1856 at Newtown Road Cemetery.
Richard and Sarah had another daughter Amelia who was born in 1859 and died as an infant in June 1860. She was buried at Newtown Road Cemetery on 30 June 1880.
Emma's step mother Sarah Ann died in March 1864 aged 38 and was buried at Newtown Road Cemetery on 26 March 1864.
Richard remarried in 1865 in Eton to Mary Ann Davison. The family then moved to London, they were in Marylebone in 1871 and Kensington in 1881 and 1891. Richard died in 1895 in Kensington.
