Arthur Henry Stillman was born 20 January 1868 in West mills ,Newbury, the son of Arthur Septimus and Clara Louisa, nee batten, stillman. The birth was announced in Newbury weekly news on the 23rd of January 1868.

His father Arthur Septimus stillman was buried in NRC 23rd January 1892.

His mother Clara Louisa stillman was also buried in NRC on the 8th of April 1911 and his brother William George Tillman buried at NRC on the 31st of January 1931
