1886-1886

Francis Edmund was the son of Edmund Bulpit and his 2nd wife Elizabeth (nee Collins) who married in 1881 in Newbury.

Francis died soon after he was born, he was buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 15th September 1886

His father Edmund was born 1853 in Newbury, the son of Joseph and Mary Ann Bulpit (nee Hamblin). Edmund was a widower when he married Elizabeth, his 1st wife was Maria Wernham (name spelt Wornham at time of marriage in 1873, Maria died aged 23 in 1877). 

His mother Elizabeth was born on the 13th February 1861 in Enborne Berkshire, the daughter of Emmanuel and Elizabeth Collins (nee Bulpit) (Elizabeth’s mother Elizabeth Bulpit was Edmund Bulpit’s half-sister, both were children of Joseph Bulpit born c1805 in Enborne) .

Edmund and Elizabeth also had the following children:

Arthur Edward born 1883 (died aged 1 month, laid to rest in the NRC on the 18th May 1883)

May Matilda born 1885

Florence Daisy born 1895

The 1881 census records Edmund (28) and Elizabeth (20) living in Bartholomew Street, Newbury, Edmund was recorded as a Labourer.

In 1891 and 1901 Edmund was recorded as a Lath Render, in 1911 he was recorded as a Lath Render and Cleaver.

The family were recorded living in Sarum House Shop (in/near Enborne Road) Newbury in 1891, 5 Craven Terrace, Newbury in 1901 and 59 Berkeley Road, Newbury in 1911.

Edmund died aged 73 in 1926 (death registered in Poplar)

The 1939 register records Elizabeth (78) and Florence Daisy (44) living at 53 Andover Road Newbury.

Elizabeth died aged 81 in 1942 (death registered in Newbury)
