Esther Warne

c1855-1856

Esther Warn was born in Newbury the daughter of James and Sarah Warne (nee Field) who married in 1850 (marriage registered in Newbury).

Esther’s mother Sarah was baptised on the 11^th April 1830 at Christ Church Spitalfields Middlesex the daughter of Edward and Lucy Field. She died aged 33 in 1862 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20^th May.

Her father James Edwinson Warne was a Cordwainer. He was baptised on the 8^th January 1826 at St Nicolas Church Newbury the son of James and Elizabeth Warne (nee Peck) who were married on the 2^nd March 1821 at St Nicolas Church Newbury. (Hardwicke Marriage Index has the surname recorded as Warn)  James died aged 33 in 1861, he was buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 14^th January.

In 1861 the family were recorded living in Old Cattle Market Newbury

Esther Warne died aged 1 in 1856 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery of the 1^st April (she has mistakenly been recorded as Hester Warner in the Newtown Road Cemetery Company Accounts)
