William Cuin

1850-1850

 

William was born in Newbury he was the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Cuin (nee Shefford) who married in 1848 (marriage registered in Newbury surname spelt Cain on freebmd). (Banns for this marriage recorded at St Mary the Virgin Marlborough 17th and 24th September and 1st October 1848, Thomas Cuin bachelor of the parish of Newbury and Mary Ann  Shefford spinster of this parish). Thomas was a Bricklayer he was born in Speen Berkshire c1825. Mary Ann was born c1826 in Wiltshire.

Thomas and Mary Ann also had the following children:

Sarah Jane 1852 Newbury

Ephraim 1854 Kensington Paddington and Fulham

Mary Ann 1856 Marylebone

Alfred 1858 Kensington

John 1860 Kensington

Thomas George 1863 Kensington

William died soon after he was born he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 23rd August 1850.

The 1851 census records his parents Thomas (27) and Mary Ann (27), living in Old Newtown Road Newbury. (Surname recorded as Quin on Ancestry). By 1854 the family had moved to London.

Both the 1861 and 1871 census records record the family living at Chichester Mews Paddington (surname recorded as Wein in 1871 on Ancestry). In 1881 Thomas and his sons Alfred and John were living in Chelsea. Mary was working as an Assistant Nurse and was recorded living in Warwick Road Paddington in this census. By 1891 they had moved to Willesden, living at 2Wellington Road (Ancestry have the surname recorded as Cina)

Thomas died aged 69 in 1893 (death registered in Hendon)

Mary Ann died aged 73 in 1895 (death registered in Hendon)
