Edmund George Thorn ( 1811-1882)  

 

The eldest child of Edmund and Elizabeth Thorn born 23rd August 1811.

He was a shoemaker (Cordwainer) as was his father and four of his brothers.

He married Margaret J. May 22nd May 1832.They had three children by the 1841 census and another four before the 1851 census. Their eldest daughter ,Elizabeth, was a dressmaker and their eldest son, Alfred,  was a shoemaker.

The family was living in Dibley’s Yard, Bartholomew St. on the 1841 and 1851 censuses’ By 1855 they had moved to Simmon’s Yard, Northbrook St. On the 1861 census they were at 1 Albert Place.

He died in 1882.
