Thomas Simmons

c1774-1862

 

Thomas was born in Newbury and was a Shoemaker.

In 1815 he was living in Jack of Newbury Yard (East Side of Northbrook Street) Newbury with his wife Sarah. Sarah died (death not found) and Thomas remarried on the 6/11/1832 at St Nicolas Church Newbury his 2nd wife was Harriot Willis, a spinster, (born c1806 Newbury).

Thomas and Harriot lived in Northbrook Street (1841), 11 Kimber’s Almshouses (1851) and Cheap Street (1861).

Thomas died aged 88 in 1862 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 5th December.
